I have lived in Sydney all my life and always enjoyed to ocean. I have been a Maroubra Surf Life Saver since 1971 and have a passion for salt water.
For my 60th birthday, my son Tim bought me a book titled ‘Wild Swimming – Sydney’ by Sally Tertini and Steve Pollard, it lists their top 250 natural swimming spots in the wider Sydney region.
I am about to retire from work and one of my retirement strategies is to visit and swim at each of the 250 swim sites. In order to track my progress I have decided to blog each one with reference to the book and with my own particular feedback on each of the spots.
I have also decided to include swim spots not listed in the book that I think deserve a mention.

Thumbs up to your son for gifting you with Wild Swimming Sydney, and well done you for setting out on this odyssey to sample all the swims!
We were very happy to find your blog and learn of your quest – this is exactly the kind of enthusiasm that led us to create the book in the first place. And this was our hope exactly, that it would inspire others to get out there and explore Sydney’s watery wilds!
All the best with your ongoing swimming adventures. We look forward to following your progress via your blog!
